World Heart Day 2025: Your Heart, Your Life

Did You Know?

Up to 80% of early deaths from heart disease can be prevented through early checkups, proper care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Yet, every year, heart disease claims over 20.5 million lives worldwide.

In commemoration of World Heart Day 2025, The One New Heart Tanzania (TONHT) implemented a free, community-based heart health outreach mission in Mbeya City, followed by additional outreach missions in Rukwa and Songwe regions, bringing essential heart care directly to the community.

Here’s what we achieved together:
450 people received free heart screenings – including BP, BMI, glucose, ECG, and echocardiography.
150 high-risk individuals were identified and referred to hospitals for immediate follow-up care.
✅Every participant received education on heart health, covering nutrition, lifestyle, and mental wellness.
✅We distributed Kiswahili health materials to empower people with heart disease knowledge.

Our ultimate goal was to reach 500 people with free heart diagnosis and lifesaving education.

Honoring Women Leading the Way

On this World Heart Day, we proudly celebrate the women doctors, nurses, and social workers who continue to stand at the frontline of cardiovascular health.
Their dedication, compassion, and expertise bring hope to families and communities across Tanzania.

From offering free checkups and medications to leading education on nutrition, mental wellness, and prevention, these women are proving that when women lead, hearts are protected, and lives are saved.
